We Are One
Disaster Relief Program

Established in April 2020 by Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Daniel Littleton, the We Are One Disaster Relief Program serves as the benevolent arm of the Mississippi Southern First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction COGIC.

The program aims to assist members of the Jurisdiction with recovery following a disaster.

What is a disaster:
A disaster is a sudden, calamitous event that seriously disrupts the functioning of a community or society and causes human, material, and economic or environmental losses that exceed the community's or society's ability to cope using its own resources. Though often caused by nature, it can have human origins.

The 2020 Hurricane Season runs June 1 through November 30.
A hurricane is one of the most dramatic, damaging and life altering events that can occur in the state of Mississippi.

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina destroyed our coast and impacted over one million people across the state. Please take time now to plan ahead. Have a family emergency plan, know evacuation routes, and have a five-day disaster supply kit.
